On Saturday I was lucky enough to take part in a demonstration against the new Hobby Lobby in Burbank. Because of the recent Supreme Court decision it was easy to find people who shared my ire.
The protest was fucking amazing. There were readings of poems, chanting, and discussions with members of the community. We found overwhelming support, even from (most of) the religious community members who came to speak to us. I met some of my heroes, met new heroes, and even got myself quoting a long-held atheist quote published in an article:
Let’s just say that I feel incredibly lucky to have the ability to live in a country where this kind of activity is okay.
